Overview: In this episode, we interview the one and only, Marsha Wright. Marsha is a serial entrepreneur, TV business expert & media personality, an investor, a 4x best-selling author, and a heartfelt philanthropist. At the early age of 16, she found that her skill was marketing. This sparked Marsha’s journey into small business and led to building up her own powerful brand. Partnering with well over 20 companies now, Masha is one of the most well-known influencers in the entrepreneurial world with an army of dedicated fans following her journey. Tune in to hear Marsha’s wisdom and tips on how you can find success by leading with your determination and talent!

5 Golden Nuggets Shared:

1. The most successful people in this world work their way up from hardships and trial and errors, Marsha is a prime example of this. (Spoiler alert: At one point in her life she had to make $8 stretch for food and gas each week!)
2. In order to become successful, you first have to find what success looks for you, find the easiest way to get there and enjoy your passions at the same time.
3. Take advice from your mentors and run with it. You will figure things out, you just have to start somewhere and be determined in the process.
If you are asking for help, especially from influencers, you need to have something to offer in return. Don’t go right in for the ask, influencers are approached all the time and need to feel appreciated and have value returned to them just like anyone else! (Think, trading your value for their value!)
5. Use your talent to maximize your capacity and efficiency. As one person you don’t have the capacity to accomplish everything but with the right network combined with your talent your success and time increases!

3 Bold and Kick-Ass Quotes:

1. “The way my current life is by design and not by accident.” - Marsha Wright
2. “Success for you as a person doesn’t necessarily have to be what success for somebody else is.” - Marsha Wright
3. “Know what your asset points are and go into collaboration with those asset points in mind.” - Marsha Wright

Overview: In this episode, we interview Bill Troy, CEO of Civilis Marketing and a natural-born contrarian. Bill shares with us his expertise and knowledge of 25 years in the market research space, with an emphasis in the online marketing world. Throughout the episode, Bill teaches you how to stand out in the marketing space and how to avoid falling into the trap of CLICKSAND, which is also the title of his new book!

5 Golden Nuggets Shared:

1. Beware of snake-oil pitches and recognize when you are being pitched this way. For these sales to happen 3 things must exist: a pain the suffer feels, a promise it can work, and plausibility of the story they are telling you.
2.There are four types of money you can get: your own, friends and family, investors, and customers. Out of the four types the best type of money to get is from your customers, if customers will pay you for it, you know your product or service is worthwhile.
3. If you are going to utilize tools in your business, ensure you know why you need that tool. If you can’t explain to yourself why you need it, you don’t need it yet.
4. Be cautious of automation and make sure you are focused on effectiveness and not just efficiency, one doesn’t always lead to the other.
5. Business is a two-way relationship that requires interactions. When people come to you with their needs, make sure you are providing that need while making them feel valued.

3 Bold and Kick-Ass Quotes:

1. “Money talks!” - Bill Troy
2. “If a customer will pay for it, it’s a winner!” - Bill Troy
3. “Use the Golden Rule as an actual, practical bit of instruction for yourself today.” - Bill Troy

Overview: In this episode, we interview guest Peter Winick, Founder and CEO of Thought Leadership Leverage. Peter works with 4 main groups of thought leaders: authors and speakers looking to take their business to the next level, elite academics experiencing an unexpected flood of positive attention, seasoned senior executives ready for their next phase in life, and boutique or mid-tier consultancies around the world. Throughout the episode, Peter shares how to become a successful thought leader by focusing on your job of content creation and letting others build your ideas and content into a business generating revenue streams.

5 Golden Nuggets Shared:
1. Author tip: The world needs a good book with a unique story, followed by a plan of action to get it out there.
2. The content business can be mediocre without the proper guidance. Peter’s clients bring him on board to help them thrive, not just survive.
3. Many people try to do everything and become overwhelmed with no results. Successful thought leaders focus on their job of creating the best content out there, sharing it in the best way possible, doing research, and serving their clients.
4. The key to making money in the content business is to ensure the client is getting more benefit than they are paying you for.
5. Honesty, self-awareness, and introspection are huge for success. People who are struggling usually have a hard time in these areas. Understand that it’s okay to get help with the areas you are lacking in.

3 Bold and Kick-Ass Quotes:
1. “Human nature is such because we all work hard and do the right thing, but we confuse activity with productivity.” - Peter Winick
2. “Not knowing the world you are in is a big mistake.” - Peter Winick
3. “I was smart enough to get people that are really gifted in a space that is a weakness for me personally to build out the capabilities of the team.” - Peter Winick
